Tulum, Mexico – Wow!!

So many pinch-myself moments on this trip, including swimming with a WHALE SHARK!! Floating in the idyllic crystal water cenotes, exploring the Chichen Itza, and soaking in our hot bath tub over the ocean whilst star gazing and seeing a million shooting stars.

STAY:  We stayed at Azulik in a Sky Villa. There is no electricity at this resort, and no shower. We bathed in our ocean front bath (there is a second bath tub inside) in candlelight every night and it was absolute bliss. I would not ever want to stay anywhere else in Tulum.

CENOTES: There are many cenotes in and around Tulum. We went to Dos Ojos Cenote which has many dark caves to swim into, and a dark bat cave! The water at Dos Ojos is crystal blue and absolutely beautiful. The second cenote we visited was about an hour and a half from Tulum, called Ik Kil. This cenote is draped in vines with glowing turquoise water, and very deep which makes it fun to jump off the edge!

SNORKELING: We took a boat tour from Cancun and jumped in the middle of the ocean to swim with a massive/intimidating but very friendly whale shark! His mouth was literally the length of my body and I definitely had a moment under the ocean with this big guy thinking I was done for. Such an incredible experience and HIGHLY recommended!! The second stop on our boat tour was to the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Isla Che, located just off shore from the tranquil island known as Isla Mujeres, for incredible reef snorkeling.

MAYAN RUINS: I couldn’t go to Tulum without visiting Chichen Itza, being one of the 7 wonders of the world. These ruins are fascinating and definitely worth the 1.5 hour trip out from Tulum! These ruins are protected and you can’t climb up them, however the ruins in Coba (half an hour from Tulum) are free for climbing/roaming!

Safe to say that I am heading back to Tulum ASAP!!

Northern California Adventure

For the past year I have been wanting to stay in this amazing treehouse I found on Air Bnb
Finally we decided to bite the bullet and went on a last minute weekend adventure up
north. Such an amazing and magical experience ‘glamping’ up a gigantic tree.
I have so many more treehouse/yurt/teepee/fairy cottage/mushroom houses etc on my
Air Bnb bucket list to book this year!

A recent spontaneous trip to Hawaii to meet my dearly missed mum (she won’t fly all the way to LA)
I cannot believe I only just realised this turquoise dream is only a short and cheap flight
away from me! We only had time to explore one island (Oahu) and stayed in the most
beautiful resort – The Modern Honolulu which was just far enough away from the craziness
of Honolulu, and has by far the best pool/lounging areas. Highly recommended!
I am super excited to get back and adventure through the other 7 islands of Hawaii!!
